With 26 miles of electric-only power, you can use it for a short daily commute without ever needing to use the gas engine. After the 26 miles, it switches to a regular 1.6-liter gas engine. This combination results in mileage of 46 miles per gallon, making the 2019 Kia Niro Plug-In Hybrid a very efficient vehicle for its size.
The 2022 Niro Plug-In Hybrid comes in three trim levels: LX, EX, and EX Premium. They’re all very well-equipped, with even the base version coming with advanced driver safety aids, a 7-inch touch screen and plenty of connectivity options. Its interior comfort, ride smoothness, and cavernous storage space are what you’d expect from a modern SUV.
2022 Kia Soul EV
If you’d like to ditch the gas engine for good and go full electric, the Kia Soul EV is a great choice. Its 30-kWh battery pack and the electric motor provide 111 miles of range, so you can easily use the Soul for your daily commute. For longer trips, you just need to plan accordingly, with plenty of recharge stations conveniently placed throughout the country. The electric engine provides 109 horsepower and 210 pound-feet of torque. The 2019 Soul EV is not only clean and fuel efficient but it is a very comfortable and well-equipped vehicle.
After a century of domination, the gas-powered engine is now being slowly replaced by cleaner and more efficient alternatives.
