Bar-Rescue Trail

Odessa Mountain Bike Park is the only public bike park in the Midland-Odessa area. Located in an abandoned quarry, this trail system does a great job of repurposing land that would otherwise sit empty. It also encourages people to spend time outside and pick up a healthy new hobby. If this is your first time out on a bike since you were a kid, the Bar-Rescue trail is the place to start.

This trail travels the entire circumference of the park, almost 2 miles, and is mostly flat. It’s a gravel double track, meaning it’s nice and wide. Designed to be an access trail, this is the perfect place to make sure your bike is in working order, and you are comfortable on it before hitting the singletrack. It’s also the perfect place to teach young children how to ride a bike.

Outer Green Loop

Once ready to move onto singletrack trails, try the outer green loop in the Odessa Mountain Bike Park. This trail is over 3 miles with a little over 100 feet of climbing. It circumnavigates the park, often intersecting with the Bar-Rescue trail, in case you need to make a quick escape. This is a fun trail for people new to the sport of mountain biking or children just starting out.

South Loop

South Loop is one of the most popular trails in Odessa Mountain Bike Park. This is a blue trail that loops through the lower half of the park. It is 1.7 miles long with 127 feet of climbing. It’s easily accessible from the Bar-Rescue trail and ends close to the parking lot, making it convenient to ride. This trail is packed with drops, tabletops, and switchbacks and allows riders to practice their bike skills.

Whether you are new to mountain biking or you have been riding your whole life, Odessa Mountain Bike Park is one of the best places to ride in Odessa.
