It’s a legal requirement to register your car in Texas that you have a car inspection once a year. The Texas Department of Public Safety provides the checklist. This inspection checks and confirms that your vehicle is safe to drive in the state. What You Need to Bring With You

When you arrive for the inspection, you’ll need to bring your driver’s license, a method of payment, and your insurance documentation. Your id must have your photo and must be current. Payment options include cash, credit card, and debit card.

What Is Inspected

Insurance Documentation
