2023 Kia EV6
The Kia EV6 is a sleek-looking electric vehicle with impressive range and technology. For the 2023 model year, the EV6 lineup gains a new GT performance model with sporty interior elements. The entry-level Light trim is no longer available, making the Wind the starting point for the lineup. Here's a look at what you can get with the 2023 Kia EV6.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
All trim levels for the 2023 Kia EV6 include a smart power tailgate, heated and power-folding side exterior mirrors, and a smart key remote start. The entry-level Wind comes with 19-inch alloy wheels and presents Gloss Black wheel arch molding and lower body cladding. Both GT trims feature a power sunroof and automatically extending flush door handles. Stepping up to the GT-Line is unique trim-specific body styling and 20-inch alloy wheels for the all-wheel-drive option. The new GT model has 21-inch wheels, 15-inch front brakes, 14.2-inch rear brakes, and Goodyear Eagle F1 tires.
Engine (Power)
Power for the Wind and GT-Line comes from either a single electric motor with rear-wheel drive or dual electric motors for all-wheel drive. The rear-wheel-drive single motor setup generates 225 horsepower with 258 pound-feet of torque. If you opt for the all-wheel-drive dual electric motor, it bumps horsepower up to 320 and pound-feet of torque to 446. The GT uses a dual electric motor that produces 576 horsepower and 545 pound-feet of torque. All models have a 77.4-kilowatt-hour battery pack to keep the engines charged.
Performance
The EPA-estimated range for the GT is up to 206 miles, but if you aim to maximize range, the Wind or GT-Line models will get you the farthest. Rear-wheel-drive Wind models will go up to 310 miles on a full charge, and all-wheel-drive models will get up to 282 miles. The GT-Line has a 252-mile range for all-wheel drive and a 310-mile range for rear-wheel drive. Acceleration in the Kia EV6 is instant, especially in the powerful GT, which will reach 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds. The ride in this electric car is smooth and quiet no matter which trim you have.
Interior
There's room for up to five people in the Kia EV6. Vegan leather upholstery comes standard, along with heated and ventilated front seats. The all-wheel-drive version also has a heated steering wheel and rear seats. Technology starts with a 12.3-inch touchscreen, a 14-speaker Meridian audio system, a wireless phone charger, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. There are USB ports in the front and back, and it comes with a Vehicle-to-Load system that will allow the EV6 to supply electricity to other things, such as camping gear.
Safety Features
Every 2023 Kia EV6 has a full suite of driver aids. It includes forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, a blind-spot monitoring system with rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, and a driver attention warning system. It also comes with front and rear parking sensors and Kia's Highway Driving Assist system that enhances the adaptive cruise control systems. The optional Technology Package adds an automated parking system, a 360-degree surround-view camera, a blind-spot camera, and automatic rear braking. The GT trims add a remote parking assist and a head-up display.
