Monahans Sandhills State Park

Monahans Sandhills State Park is located about 30 miles east of Odessa. The sand dunes have been forming for millions of years, and they’re one of the only places in Texas where you can hike through shifting sand dunes without having to leave the state.

The park has two areas with overnight camping: Persimmon Gap Campground and Chisos Basin Campground. Both areas have restrooms with flush toilets and showers, as well as picnic tables and fire rings. There is also a dump station at each campground that accepts RV waste only.
