The 2023 Kia Rio is Kia’s leading subcompact car on the market, ideal for city drivers and those looking for a simple and dependable daily vehicle. With impressive fuel economy, a small profile, and suspension that makes every ride feel like driving on a cloud, there’s a lot to love under the hood. Keep reading to see what the 2023 Rio has to offer and why it’s a top choice in its class!

Meet the 2023 Kia Rio

The Rio comes in both four-door sedan and five-door hatchback configurations, with two trim levels for the sedan (LX and S) and one for the hatchback (S). All variants and trims are powered by the same 120-horsepower 1.6L inline-four engine, which boasts an impressive average fuel economy rating of 32 mpg in the city and 41 on the highway.

The S-level trim for both the hatchback and sedan adds a number of features to the base level trim, including a sliding center armrest, a rear USB charging port for your passengers, and optional automatic climate control to help you stay comfortable on longer drives.

Why Consider the 2023 Rio?

Ample Interior Space

Despite the overall compact size of the Rio, the interior feels spacious and roomy, with ample head and legroom for your passengers, which translates to 13.7 cubic feet of storage space in the trunk in the sedan and 17.4 cubic feet in the hatchback. With the 60/40 seats folded down flat in the hatchback, that can expand up to 32.8 cubic feet, which is more than enough to transport medium-size loads.

Infotainment and Technology

The 2023 Rio comes with Siri integration standard in both trim levels and also offers a dynamic parking guidance system, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a vehicle immobilizer to help protect against theft as standard. Optional upgrades include an additional 4.2 digital instrument display for the driver, as well as Kia’s telematics system that can flag mechanical and maintenance issues before they become serious.

Performance and Safety on the Road

Beyond the interior, the Rio offers a level of comfort while driving that you would expect on a larger SUV, and its suspension system is able to absorb potholes and bumps without a problem. Automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning sensors, and a lane departure warning system are all available options on the S-level trim.

Warranty Coverage

All 2023 Rios are covered under Kia’s generous standard warranty coverage. The limited warranty covers the majority of the vehicle for five years or 60,000 miles, whichever you hit first. The powertrain is covered separately under its own warranty that lasts for 10 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first.
